Peter Fennessy, Chair

Peter set up AbacusBio which is the Australasian market leader in agribusiness consulting and associated new business development. The firm is internationally recognised as having excellent scientific expertise in agricultural technology and biotechnology and is backed by specialised economic modelling, financial analysis and business management capabilities. As a business consultant, Peter works with clients to develop business strategy, business investment and intellectual property strategy, and in the evaluation and valuation of technologies. This is mainly in the agri-bio, biotechnology and agri-tech areas.

Peter is the ex-Chairman of NZBio, New Zealand’s industry body in the biotechnology sector.


Chris Johnson

Chris, founding Anagenix director, is an experienced investor and advisor role and supported a number of businesses exporting premium gourmet foods to the USA and UK.

As managing director of Prism Software Ltd, Chris spent close to 20 years taking a New Zealand software company from start-up to becoming the second largest management information system used by the global printing and graphic arts industry.


Wayne Mulligan

Wayne has held many senior management and strategy positions in the public and private sectors. Wayne specialises in systems thinking and he has authored 30 business case studies on Maori organisations and a report on key Maori business characteristics.

Wayne holds a number of trusteeships and directorships.In 2007 Wayne received the Dame Mira Szaszy Maori Business Alumni Award from the University of Auckland Business School.

Wayne’s Iwi affiliations are: Taranaki, Ngati Maniapoto, Te Atiawa – Taranaki Whanui ki te Whanganui a Tara.


Melissa Yiannoutsos

Melissa has extensive experience in developing and implementing strategies for technology lead organisations.  She is an active investor in technology start ups and is also managing director of Kerasi Limited a technology commercialisation consulting company.  Prior to setting up Kerasi Limited, she was responsible for managing the commercialisation portfolio and investment funds at Industrial Research Limited, a New Zealand crowned owned entity.
